Hi I think i should introduce myself first! I am 20 years old and consider myself as a bodybuilder ( as i lift and eat like one) do not look like one yet though)
It is a bit of a hard time at home at the minuite (but who cant say that) and i find my mum to be very down about alot of things and i truely believe improving her weight would make a differnece! She Currently weighs the same as me at 13 stone, I dont consider my mum to be a large lady at infact she is very beautiful in everyway but i belive she will be smiling all the time if she was 10 or 11 stone. When she asked for some advice about eating and exercise it really made me realise how little know of womens fitness and nutrition because all i do is look at bodybuilding.com!!! I have told her she should be exercising at least 3 times a week like aerobics or running with the dog but i need more advice and help from women who are in a similar postion at the age of around 40 who have turned there lifestyles around to be happy in themselfs. Thank you for your time reading this please help me so i can help my Mum!!! Thank you. Simon |

Hi SimonKatie, I suggest you let your mother focus on cardion workouts. Stair climbing is a good example of it. Also, have her eat 5-6 smaller meals a day instead of 2-3 big ones.

Hi SimonKatie,
I hope my mail finds you well, as for your mother, the health implications of training are way beyond just losing weight. Here's a few things gained by working out.
As for meals most nutritional books and diets recommend around six smaller meals per day. What to eat on those six smaller meals per day is the tricky part, I would look into foods that are Low GI or Low Glycemic Index for anyone who didn't know this. This type of carbohydrate will allow your mother to feel fuller for a longer period of time, that being said she should equally consume a healthy portion of protein, looking at the quality of the protein is equally as important as eating Low GI foods. Most trainers will pitch to you on a High Protein Low Carb Diet (Do Not follow this as this is not a good method to permanently maintaining a healthy diet)!!! Things you can also try to do are eating a scheduled times so that your metabolism recognizes that it's time to start working so if I eat breakfast every morning at 8:00am my body kicks in at the same time every day. Consume enough water each day as this also helps to transport the food through the body more efficiently. Try get your mother to start taking a good dosage of CLA as this should help too, be warned ahead of time this is not a quick fix product but more of a long term product that needs to be consumed. My thoughts on post nutrition for your mother would be to hold off eating at least one hour after training as her body will still be burning of calories well after her workout, try convince her that training first thing in the morning is far more beneficial for her as her body is still trying to wake up and therefore her body will burn up more energy as it takes a lot more work to get it going. Nutrition This is just some food for thought!Fist Size Portions Breakfast = 1 x Protein 1 x Carb Mid Lunch = Shake Lunch = 1 x Protein 1 x Carb 1 x Vegetable Mid Dinner = Shake Dinner = 1 x Protein 1 x Carb 1 x Vegetable After Dinner = Shake I hope this has helped you in some way, shape or form. Check out my website for a copy of the Ketogenic Diet (High Protein / Low Carb) routine for cutting weight regarding your bodybuilding it will give you an extensive over view on how to calculate your % ratio for Carb/Fat/Protein Ketogenic Diet Explained Example of Ketogenic Diet Nutritional Posts on Body Conscious Boot Camp Kind regards -------------------- Justin Mc Gibbon
