To put it short i want to get in shape and fit for the summer. I have no idea on how to go about this im a 16yr old, 5ft 9, 75kg boy. I would say i have an average body not fat or skinny just 'normal'.
I've never been to the gym properly before or any type of REAL exercise ( i used to do a bit of boxing here and there ). Ill be going to the GYM at my local youth club this week
and to be frank i have no idea what to do, whether i should focus on losing weight or doing weights.
after i feel comfortable at my youth club gym ill purchase a membership at the virgin gym down the road, so if anyone can recommend any way for me to start out please help it would be really useful, thanks.
any other questions just reply.

Okay, I'd recommend that you start weight training and increase protein intake, I wouldn't worry about calories too much for now, just keep eating around the same as you are now.
Go for exercises like squats, deadlifts, bench press, dips, rows etc Look them up on www.bodybuilding.com for instructions and take a look at

and this post
For a list of good exercises.
Get cracking on those and let me know how you do. Start slow and in good form, you can built up the weight over weeks, months and years, for now just learn the movements with a weight that you can do comfortably for 10 reps. Always have a spotter on bench press, french press, squat and any other exercise where you could potentially get injured from a falling weight or pinned under it.
Hope this helps

As you're still quite young and still developing i'd recommend not going to overboard with the weights as it can affect your development. It's still good to start early though, to get yourself familiar with the various techniques and routines for building certain muscle groups. join a gym that you feel comfortable in and don't be afraid to ask the more experienced guys for any tips on what works well for them
