Hi I am New to these forums and first post.
I am currently preparing for phase one training with the British Territorial Army, I know the minimum standards required are relatively low (1.5 miles in 10.30mins and 3 miles in 21 mins) however
I want to work to be pushing well past these standards for my cardio.

To tell you a bit about myself, I am 20 years old, slim build with some muscle and a very high metabolism. My goals are to increase my endurance running fitness and also to bulk up to some extent but with a lean build to toughen the muscles. Any training advice much appreciated. My current fitness level allows me to run the 1.5 miler but my 3 mile time is around 26 mins and I need to improve it.

Hi mate, i'm a former infantryman. For running try and do 2 steady state runs a week and 2 interval training sessions a week (e.g. hill sprints). For upper body strength do plenty of body weight exercises, press ups, pull ups, tricep dips, sit ups etc etc . Need any more info fire away.........
