Hi there
Can't believe I've only just found this forum it looks great. Been having a quick look this morning, looks like there's plenty of very knowledgable people here with great advise.
Ok I'm Clare, 33 married with 3 small children. I've always been into fitness (not massively like some) but regular classes and we as a family enjoy healthy eating and being active
I'm a member of a health club and with the kids I've tried to manage 2 classes a week (high intensity with weights and interval training). After Xmas I've decided to up the game, 3 classes plus 1-2 Zumba classes where I can. Re the diet bit we have upped the fish and reduced the red meat, I can't tolerate wheat so if pasta it's always rice with tomato based sauce and lean protein, or fish and veg. We have always followed a healthy lifestyle so limit unhealthy snacks and aim for fruit if a snack is needed.
I am feeling more toned but struggling to lose the mummy tummy and small area of fat around my hips. I weighed myself this morn and much to my annoyance am 9 st 6 lb (am 5 ft 5) was 9st 2 after Xmas. Now I know muscle weighs more but this is disheartening. I'm not looking for a quick fix but I know there's plenty of fat to shed! Any advise on training and diet would be much appreciated. Oh I also have taints fat scales and although I'm not sure how accurate they are? My fat percentage is very high. 27%. Help! Thanks, Clare

Unfortunately, it does not take much to tip the scales, i.e a few unhealthy snacks or soft drinks/alcohol. For example, making a simple substitution of water can help you lose up to 4 to 5 pounds. Also, the way you prepare your food can sabotage your healthy diet. Steaming, baking and grilling is always better than pan frying. When you snack on fruits, aim for slow sugar release fruits (unlike bananas grapes and dried fruits) to prevent blood sugar fluctuations and help you stay satiate longer. Try apples, pears and all berries.
