Not complaining at all Clare B. All the men treat me really well and they help me loads with my training - especially chins which I am still struggling with - although since going there I can now manage 5 or 6 on my own.

Simon and I are new to the village - we moved there 18 months ago, so I'm also getting to know lots of local people - the wives and girlfriends as well.

Mul - so far there are four of us there that are going to do the same show next year. We're not sure which one it will be yet, but I'll keep you all posted.

Faz - I live in Nuxley Village, Kent. If you know London/SE it's Bexley way - not too far from Bluewater Shopping Centre.

will their only be 4 competitors then? is it a hardcore gym u go to?

id say 5 to 6 chins is quiet impressive i can do 10 , then i can do like 6-8, then after that its like 1 or 2 lol. so i move to the pulldown machine instead it really makes the lats sore for a day or two. well doen on 5-6 your a strong woman

Hi Mul,

No not 4 competitors in the whole show, just entries from my gym. There is a show for each region, ie. SE, Central, Northern and then usually, but at the discretion of the judges, the top 2-3 place getters are invited to compete in the national comp. There are several different organisations and they all run their own regional shows. Most of them are over for this year now - except for a few of the finals. The BNBF (Naturals) final is on in Glasgow on 1st October and the EFBB final is on 8th October in Nottingham in case you are interested.

Mul, Vase,

Thanks for your comments

Shoulders today - would normally have a rest day today but I won't be able to train tomorrow so probably a little bit tired to get the best of of this workout but my shoulders were on fire during and straight after the workout. Rest day tomorrow, Quads on Friday then I'll hit my back hard on Saturday. Not getting time for much CV at the moment but it doesn't seem to be doing me any harm. Once work settles down a bit I'm going to try a few weeks of 2 x 30min CV sessions a day. Also want to start playing around with my diet and testing myself on a few no carb, low/moderate/high carb days. Will post how I feel at the time.

Shoulder press - warm up set 15 reps x 10 kg

10x14kg, 10x14kg, 6x 16kg, 5x16kg (failure)

Front raises

15x6kg, 15x8kg, 12x10kg, 8x12kg

Lateral raises

15 x 6,7,8kg

Upright rows - 3 x 12 reps x 35kg
